Thally- Little England of Tamil Nadu

Thally is a Town in Thally Taluk in Krishnagiri District of Tamil Nadu State, India. It is located 72 KM towards west from District head quarters Krishnagiri. It is a Taluk head quarter.

Bangalore , Ramanagaram , Malur , Magadi are the nearby Cities to Thally.

If you are planning a short ride nearby, then Thally is the place. This place is known for its cold climatic conditions even at summer. Almost most of the vegetables, fruits and flowers in Bangalore and further south are supplied from here

We went for a drive to Thally on 6th Jan 2017. We actually went to Hosur for a personal work. After our work we planned to go to Thally which an auto wala suggested. Till then we had no idea about the place. It is 28 km from hosur. While getting nearer there was a sudden drop in temperature leading to a rather pleasant ride than expected in an otherwise hot Tamil Nadu. Such a pleasant climate we enjoyed in Thally. It is an agricultural area where we saw full of cultivation lands on both sides of the road.
One more thing that attracted us is the rose cultivation in greenhouses. These roses would be exported to various parts of the world through Bangalore airport. Tamilnadu government shares 50% of the investment. Thally is called as 'The Little England of Tamilnadu' because of its climatic conditions and the flower beds cultivated there.

There are cottages available in this place to experience the climate of Thally. As we didnt have much time we did not plan a stay and we started our way back home..,
